Our grands are 8,6,5,&4. It’s hard and expensive to take everyone to Cruz Bay’s very fine  and expensive Restaurants. So we asked Teri Wine of  St John Travel and Life , concierge services.she didn’t hesitate a second to recommend Kids Night In.

And our babysitter, Emma, was a joy to work with. Our daughters (3 and 5 years old) immediately latched on to her and wanted to talk to her, show her their arts and crafts and talk to her about their beach adventures. Leslie is everything you could possibly want in a babysitter: reliable, communicative, competent, and caring! Leslie watched my 7 month old daughter over the course of several days while we were in St. John and I had zero doubts during this time about my daughter’s safety or wellbeing while she was in Leslie’s care. Leslie is extremely reliable and communicative, asking all the right questions up front to ensure she could follow my daughter’s routine and provided a recap at the end of the night. She is also extremely knowledgeable on child development, and I learned things from her that neither my pediatrician or baby books mentioned. She also brought lots of toys and had fun arts and crafts activities planned, including the cutest flamingo foot art! With limited babysitting options on the island, she doesn’t have to do this – you can tell she goes above and beyond because she truly loves children. This is the type of person you want to trust with your child. Thank you Leslie for being so wonderful!

Mikayla was a fantastic babysitter while my husband and I got to enjoy a nice dinner alone while on our trip to St. John. She was prompt and competent, diving right into a story with our toddler while we settled the baby into bed. Kids Night In was a lucky find for our family! They graciously accommodated a late request during the busy Christmas holidays so that the adults in our family could enjoy a rare night out. Our babysitter (Elise) arrived with games, crafts and all the right energy to ensure my kiddos had a blast! Leslie is a real life Mary Poppins! She cheerfully arrives with a large bag full of games, crafts, and activities! She is professional, caring, loving, respectful, and experienced!

Leaving your children, the most precious gift you have on earth, with a new caregiver can be nerve-racking, but Leslie eliminated every hesitation. She is highly communicative and engaging to the children.  I was assured they would be safe first and foremost, and also have a wonderful experience while the parents were away.

I highly recommend her care and encourage you to book early though to minimize “late” fees. It’s a significant expensive in my experience (having used nannies for the last 10 years) but the care and  is top notch and given the location, again, cannot recommend her group more!

I can only say amazing things about Leslie and her team. We used Kidsnightin so two adult couples could have a night out without the kiddos. Leslie was very responsive when I first reached out to her. She matched us with a babysitter who would be perfect for our large group of six kids. Elise was our sitter and if only I could have hired her every night! She was on-time, incredibly kind and caring. Our children are highly rambunctious and Elise had just the right energy and assertiveness with the kiddos. We came home from our dinner and she had all the kids create these really cute art projects. We didn’t realize it as first, but she had a bag of board games, art supplies and more. We took our first vacation with kids (ages 4 and 3) in February 2023 and had the best time, thanks in large part to Kids Night In! My husband and I are big bike riders and wanted to bike a few different coveted routes on the island which we obviously could not do with the kids. Kids Night In was awesome because it allowed us to do what we wanted to do on vacation while ensuring our kids were still having fun!

Leslie and Laurel were both early to each scheduled babysitting time and brought bags of “tricks” (crafts, supplies, toys… even swim suits so they could get in the pool with the kids!). This was awesome considering we did not have room to pack a lot of kid entertainment things with us. They were both professional, kind and clearly comfortable with the kids!! Our kids had fun with them both and didn’t feel like they were being “ditched” by mom and dad. We are so grateful for the service Leslie established and can’t wait to use Kids Night In for future vacations to STJ!!

Last month we hosted our family at our home in St. John. I wanted to take the parents out for a nice dinner and also take a boat trip without the two youngest grandkids. Although my adult kids were hesitant to leave their kids with a sitter they did not know, I told them that Leslie’s excellent reputation was well known on island and I would arrange everything. Contacting Leslie through her website was easy and she responded promptly as we exchanged emails coordinating dates and times. She requires some safety paperwork but also asks some details about the kids to get to know them.  She arrived for the first date with her bag of toys and cheerful attitude. We left her with 5 year old twins and their one year old brother and headed out to dinner. Leslie updated us during the evening that all were fine and we arrived home to happy kids and artwork they had done together that I have saved. The next outing was a boat trip with additional family, but leaving two one year olds at home. When Leslie arrived the twins almost changed their mind about the boat and considered staying with her instead. But we went and had a great time knowing Leslie was watching the little ones. I had told her my one grandson would not take a bottle from me so not to worry, but apparently he had no problem cuddling her while enjoying his bottle. The babies were calm, safe and happy.

We cannot recommend Leslie and KidsNightIn enough. We definitely will be calling on her again this summer. St. John with young kids is wonderful; but taking a break and enjoying some adult time is very relaxing knowing that the kids are in such capable, kind hands. 5 Stars!

My family and I would not have been able to enjoy our stay in St. John over the holidays without Kids Night In.  I reached out to Leslie months in advance to see if it was possible to watch our 3 and 5 yo kids Mon-Fri for 3 weeks from 9a-4p.  When she confirmed a week later we were so excited to plan our extended stay.  This allowed my husband and I to have some adult time as well as work remotely.  Leslie and her wonderful team of babysitters were communicative, punctual and entertained the kids with games, painting, coloring, nature walks, etc.  My kids didn’t want to leave the Island and said Island School was better than regular school!  We can’t wait to plan our next trip and use Kids Night In again!

We had Leslie watch our kiddos for two nights, we came home to crafts and notes about what they did.  One of our sons has Down Syndrome and Leslie wanted to make sure she watched him.  He was asking for her the next day to come play.  We also had Laurel one night, and she shared with our kiddos her knowledge about the island and saved coffee grinds for the hermit crabs.  She read stories with our oldest until he fell asleep! My husband and I had 2 evening excursions while in St. John and Kids’ Night provided 2 different babysitters, Nicole and Kevauna. Both were wonderful, warm and fun. Leslie is a woman of many talents, in fact of incredible talents. Like the best babysitters  out there, she is kind, patient, and educational. But she can multitask with a finesse like few. We stayed at The Westin’s villa for 2 weeks and had an extremely demanding schedule. We needed help every day, often twice a day, many times 8 hours a day. At the time of travel, we had an unruly three year old boy going through his terrible three and a one-year-old girl who would climb on anything, not just a table. Leslie was fearless of my little monsters and cared for them with flying colors. Not only did she entertain them with dazzling creativity, she also assembled a 500 piece lego spacecraft after laying the younger one for a nap, cleaned the kitchen, loaded the dishwasher, and cleaned the living room area. We came back to a pristinely clean villa and extremely happy kids. I could not be more fond of her, as well as her helpers who filled every slot of our crazy schedule. We went on many adventures around the island knowing that our bundles of joy were in the best hands. I could shamelessly say that they had a blast with Leslie more than with us! We look forward to having them enjoy more time with Leslie and her team in the next vacation!!

I can’t say enough about our kids experience with Kids Night In babysitting service while we were on St John. I was so nervous and reluctant to getting a sitter for my 2 littles (3 and 17months) but my husband convinced me and I am so glad I listened. My husband, my parents, and I were able to enjoy 2 evenings on the town…something my husband and I have not done in over 3 years since my son was born.  It was a well earned break for the adults and my kids felt so comfortable with Leslie I don’t think they missed us at all and – bonus – she got my kids to eat too!

My son still tells us about the fun he had with his baby sitter and insisted that we hang all the art work they made on their bedroom walls.

Leslie even was able to laugh when the first thing that came out of my sons mouth when she greeted him was “oh F***” …yup I kid you not.  As a mortified parent she even made me feel better about it.

Kids Night In was the MVP of our vacation. I was able to enjoy snorkeling and hiking daily with my husband knowing that Leslie was there providing educational and age appropriate activities at our rental house. We had Leslie watch Finn, our 2-year-old son, one night. Finn had never met Leslie, so I expected tears and an overtired toddler when we came home. Well, Leslie is nothing short of a miracle worker. Kids Night In is the best! Leslie was our sitter on three occasions during our stay on St. John, 2 evenings and one half-day. She was terrific. Best Babysitter We Have Ever Had!

Our family was searching for an excursion we could enjoy on St. John with our 5 year old son.  During research we did not find any great options as we thought being stuck on a boat for the day sounded like a melt down waiting to happen!  We came across many wonderful recommendations for Leslie and Kids Night In, and then realized that nothing sounded more relaxing than having an adult only time to explore the island and go out for dinner.  Leslie took care of our son twice during our vacation and we could not be happier.  She is communicative, professional and caring.  Our son has never taken to a babysitter like he did Leslie.  She arrived with bags full of activities and games and when we came back home he was so proud to show us his crafts and tell us all about their adventures.  The second day our son was so excited to see Leslie that he waited by the front door for a half hour for her to arrive.  After a dinner out we came home to a sleeping kid, which is not an easy feat.  The next morning our son asked if we could come back to St. John next year to see Leslie again.  Happy Kid, Happy Parents!

There are not enough words of praise for Kids Night In services. As a single Mother and a nurse working long hours, going back to work after maternity leave was extremely ridden with anxiety and stress. It can be stressful leaving your precious tiny ones with a new sitter but Leslie immediately felt like home. She’s warm, capable, and was so engaged with both me and my baby. I enthusiastically recommend this babysitting service, based on a recent trip to St. John. To say this service is professional is an understatement. The sitters we used—Elise and Leslie—were so prepared to deal with our children (ages 3.5 years and 5 months) it was unreal. They each brought age-appropriate crafts and games and made us feel super comfortable. Our three-year-old, in particular, was so captivated by Leslie, and her bag of toys, that she ended up pleading with us to let her stay at the villa with Leslie and her brother while the rest of the family went to the beach! Make no mistake, this service is not only for the kids, it’s for the adults, too, who get to enjoy parts of their vacation, kid-free, when they otherwise would not be able to get a moments rest.

Wow! In our two week stay in St. John, Leslie and Julie looked after our preschool aged children with fun, creativity and genuine care, allowing my husband and I to work remotely and have a few days at the beach alone. It was my family’s first trip to St John and our friends thousandth time visiting. They recommended Leslie to babysit our 2 boys (8 and 2) since they have used her several times before. I was naturally nervous because we don’t often use a sitter at home and we  we’re visiting a new place.

I would say that Leslie with kids night in is the Mary Poppins of the Caribbean. But maybe even a more fun version of Mary Poppins. She shows up with bags of toys, games, and crafts and my children were absolutely smitten with her. During our recent stay on the island, Leslie watched our three kids (11, 9 and 6).  She was awesome!  Our kids had so much fun – they were sad on the nights Leslie didn’t come!  She kept the kids entertained and even did the dishes!! I was lucky enough to find an amazing child sitting service on Saint John in the USVI for our recent trip.  We took a vacation with another family and we booked 7 nights at a villa on the island.  I was hoping I could find a reputable sitting service that would allow the four adults in our group to go out for a few nights to a nice dinner while the kids stayed/played back at the villa.   After a bit of internet research I found Leslie McKibben and her Kids Night In service.  After reading several reviews, this seemed to be the ideal service we were looking for.  However, in reality, it far exceeded my expectations.   Leslie has several sitters that work for her, and I’m certain they are all great, but we were fortunate enough to have Leslie do our sitting for our three different nights.  First of all, Leslie is an absolute sweetheart.  It is impossible for parents and kids not to like this lady.  She is so kind-hearted, personable, fun and creative and had no trouble handling the five kids in our group ranging in ages 6-12.   Upon booking, she stepped me thru her intake form so that we could address any special needs for the kids. Once we established our schedule, Leslie always came packing with games, crafts, treats.  The kids instantly fell in love with her. It was obvious to us that caring for kiddos is a passion for her, not just a job.  She really pours her heart into it.  The kids had such a good time and us parents could really relax and enjoy our night out.  The kids were constantly asking when Leslie was coming back for another night.   Additionally, Leslie was a treasure trove of information about the island and had really good stories and recommendations.  We loved visiting with her before and after the sitting session.  I would use Kids Night In again in a heartbeat and have already recommended them to some other friends that are vacationing to Saint John with their kids this summer.   Everyone wins with this service, kids and parents will love it!

I have used Leslie now for multiple trips we take as a family to St John, and will use her each year we return! She is quick to respond, professional, and personable. The first time we came, my (quite emotional) son was 10 mos, nursing, and had not been left with sitters very often. I was nervous for him (and her…and me), especially since we were with another family, expanding her responsibilities to entertain and care for 4 kids under the age of 5. That is not an easy task for anyone, but she did it seamlessly, with a smile on her face, and most importantly: smiles on all of the kids faces! The toddlers were so amazed with her energy (and bag of crafts and toys!), and my son was immediately at ease with her presence. 

Upon our second return, my 6 year old daughter had quite the tantrum (for what- I don’t remember), but again: Leslie handled it with the skill and grace of a seasoned psychologist. She again had the task of 4 kids, varying in ages and personalities, and was able to stay on schedule, limit screen time, and even make notes for their daily/nightly routines. We have used her for long boat days, and late date nights. She is a true pro! The Mary Poppins of St John, would recommend her to anyone looking for childcare on St John. We also have experience with Elyse, also from Kids night in, and she matched the same energy and compassion that we felt with Leslie!

Leslie is a modern day Mary Poppins. I cannot recommend her enough. Leslie arrived at our home with a bag of goodies that included games, puzzles and craft items. Best babysitter ever! Leslie watched my 2 kids (10 months and 4 years) and my sister’s kids (6 and 9 years) one evening while the adults went out to dinner. Leslie babysat my two daughters (ages 10 and 8) for a couple of mornings last week at our rental villa on the east end. She was fantastic. She immediately engaged both of my kids in conversation as soon as she met them, and brought fun art activities and games with her.  They enjoyed those activities a lot, and also enjoyed going down to the beach near our house with Leslie to play in the water and learn a bit about the local the sea life. My husband and I felt very comfortable leaving our children in Leslie’s care, and we are grateful that we found her!

Leslie watched our 2 and 6 year olds and she was amazing. She’s trustworthy, so kind and good with children (and adults :). We had her come in the evening both times and she made wonderful art with the children, they learned new songs, she brushed their teeth and did story time and bedtime. Communication was great. My kiddos kept asking if she was going to come again. It was really nice for my husband and I to be able to go out for dinner a few nights after busy days with the kids. It was our first time using a sitter on vacation, Leslie had been recommended to me by multiple people over the years and I’m so glad we contacted her. Highly recommend!

KIDS’ NIGHT IN and Leslie were amazing, and I highly recommend them if you are looking for a date night or any other time! We used her services twice while we were on the island…we had Chelsea and she was the sweetest! They watched movies and did arts and crafts…my daughter even gave her a hug when she got there the second night! Thanks KIDS NIGHT IN for giving my husband and I some alone time together.

I would highly recommend Leslie to anyone looking for a babysitter on St John! Our 6 and 8 year old daughters had a blast with her while we had an adult night out on vacation. She came directly to our villa at the Westin and was prompt and professional.  The girls made us adorable crafts for our anniversary, went swimming, and had dinner with Leslie at the resort restaurant.  She sent us updates periodically throughout the night and left us detailed notes upon our return. My girls had so much fun they wanted us to go out again so they could have another night with her😂 I will definitely use Leslie again!

“Leslie babysat my two boys, ages 4 and 1.5 years old, while we stole away for a grownup dinner out last week. While I’d heard rave reviews from my parent friends, I’d never met Leslie in person. From the moment she walked in the door it was clear Leslie has a special connection with children. She engaged beautifully with both of my kids, each on their level and making them comfortable with her almost instantly. She brought a full bag of toys and arts&crafts… perfectly suited to their age range. Leslie sent me updates throughout the evening and when we got home there was the cutest art project and a ‘love note’ describing the evening with them. I think it might have been my 4-year olds favorite night while we were on island! We will definitely use Leslie again in the future… thank you again!!

Leslie is fantastic! She watched our three kids, ages 7, 5, and 11 months, during our February vacation at the Westin. We were nervous, never having left our kids with a sitter on St. John (and rarely with sitters, in general). After speaking with references and meeting Leslie, however, we were put at ease. Leslie is warm, fun, and knows how to handle kids of various ages. She communicated with us in advance about our rules/hopes for the babysitting sessions, and arrived with activities appropriate for each child. She was able to get our fussy baby to sleep, and also get the older kids to bed while we enjoyed a dinner out. Leslie also swam with our kids, and had them all dressed and ready for dinner when we returned from an afternoon out. Our baby has severe food allergies, but Leslie’s background and experience with allergies/EpiPens helped us feel comfortable. She also gave us helpful tips about family-friendly restaurants and things to do on the island. Our kids loved Leslie, and we can’t wait to see her again next year!

Leslie and Kids Night In were highly recommended by a friend who travels to St John with her kids, and I would pass along the high recommendation for parents who want get out on their own while vacationing with the kids! She is trustworthy, personable, confirmed on the same day, and the kids loved her. She came with crafts, books and games, and sang songs the kids are still talking about! And she stays in contact a perfect amount to reassure you the kids are doing great! We used her services 2 times (1 night, 1 afternoon) in the week we were there, and the kids couldn’t wait for her to come again after the first time! Thank you Leslie for letting us do some “adult” things on our own in St. John!

Leslie was so great!  She was very responsive to questions, her rates are fair, and she did an AMAZING job with our 10 month old Walter.  He went right to her arms as soon as they met and was giving her snuggles before she left.  They made the sweetest little artwork and she left detailed notes of their day together for us.  It is SO worthwhile to give yourself some time and it’s a great treat for your kids too.  We absolutely recommend her!

We spent the week of Christmas 2018 on St. John.  While it was a family vacation, we decided to take a half day and give the kids (Ages 8, 13, 15) a break from us!

Leslie contacted us ahead of time to inquire about the kids, what interests they had (if they would like to bake cookies!), allergies or issues she might encounter, etc.  Once she arrived it was almost like she was a long lost friend!  She has the perfect personality for this unique kind of babysitting.  She was kind, gentle and welcoming to our kids and we felt immediately at ease leaving them with her considering how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your kids with someone you don’t know in a place that is foreign to you and your kids. She is clearly well-connected and a cherished member of this island community.

Not only did she keep them safe but she kept them happy and got them to engage with her in card and board games, which is no small task with teenagers!  We returned to a clean, calm and relaxed rental home filled with happy children.  What more could you want?!

If you find yourself needing or wanting someone to safeguard your children while you step out, we cannot recommend Leslie more highly!  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Leslie is absolutely outstanding. She looked after both my boys, 14 months and 2 and a half years old, along with my niece who is 3. She played with them right from the get go, interacted with them, and they never knew we left the house.  She arrives with bags full of fun activities and toys and the kids completely adore her.  My kids are party animals and love to stay up late, when we arrived back at the house 2 of the 3 kids were asleep which is amazing because it is always such a task to get them to sleep.  I like many have never left my children with anyone other than family.  Leslie feels like family so you have a chance to go out for a time without kids and know that your children will be well cared for and will actually be having a great time with her while you are out!

Leslie is AMAZING. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about childhood development and has a wonderful way with children of all ages, she truly adores kids and loves being around them She is creative and offers the kids age appropriate choices for art and play, brings all the necessary supplies (such a challenge on this island!). She is calm, gentle, loving, fun and structured all at the same time. She is a true baby whisperer and you can honestly see it on her face how much she enjoys what she does. It’s such a gift to know my children are in good hands. She gives her whole heart and soul to the kids in her care and they truly flourish. Can’t say enough wonderful things about her!
